Our Story

Mythrin Farm was started in 1995 as a small Thoroughbred breeding operation. We primarily marketed yearlings selling at Saratoga, Keeneland, and at Fasig-Tipton-Kentucky. We have fed scientifically based diets to improve efficiency and produce athletes. For example, we were one of the first adapters of using Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids to maximize breeding efficiency and subsequent growth. We were able to supply large athletic yearling free of OCD or other skeletal issues. After moving to Missouri in 2001 we transitioned from Thoroughbreds to breeding Oldenburgs and are proud to say that all of our Oldenburg foals were given “Premium” awards at their inspection.

Christine (Chris) Miller has had a lifelong passion for horses. This has led her to shoe, own, ride, handle, manage and breed horses on both a large and small scale. Chris worked for over ten years as a commercial farrier and has continued to trim/shoe her own for over 30 years. Chris was the assistant manager or manager at 3 large Thoroughbred breeding operations, providing direct experience in both the feeding and growing young stock and maintaining health and breeding  quality in older stock. Additionally, Chris experience as an extension livestock agent for Dakota County MN. This experience  helped to lead her to involvement in the development of the Groom Elite Program for workers at racetracks and horse farms. (http://www.groomelite.com/programs.shtml?submenuheader=1)

Bryan Miller is a professional nutritionist and patent inventor of successful nutritional supplements. In addition to product development, Bryan has spent many years in managing feed and feed additive business as well as providing  technical service. Additionally, Bryan has authored multiple scientific and lay audience publication and presentations.

Based on Chris and Bryan’s shared experiences and expertise, they saw a need for an effective and economical product to help support both the equine athlete and older horses to both reach their potential and have comfortable healthy lifestyles. Recent research in multiple species including humans, has shown good gut health has repercussions in overall health and strength as well as specific intestinal related issues. It is based on these needs that EquiBind was developed.
